In da club

WARNING: naked troll! omgz!

I finished the wooden club today, it took way longer to do then I wanted.
But now it's done, and it's nice to have something to compare the rest of the model with.

Still working on the anatomy, but here's where I'm at right now.

3D Char - small update

Some small updates.

I did some placeholders for all the accessories and the hair first, to get a feel of the whole model, the big picture.

After that I went ahead and modeled the belt in Maya.
With the piece of cloth on his left leg I tried a different approach, modeling directly in ZBrush. Wanted to try out both methods to see which one suits me the best, and to be honest I think it does not matter, it depends more on what mood you're in ;).

Next time I hope to show some of the anatomy modeling, he's gonna be strong! Or "jävligt stark!" like we say here in Sweden!

3D Character modeling course

It's been a while since I last updated my blogg, almost a year, omg!
And now it's in English!
Thought the blogg needed some dusting off, and what better way then to show some of the new stuff I'm working on right now.

Second week in to the 3rd semester at FutureGames we've started out doing some character modeling, It's a three week long course, so I'm really exited about this!

We had the choice to do our own concept or to pick someone else's design, I went with the second choice. Picking a pic from my favorite illustrator Alvaro Tapia, showed below.

First of i did a side and front view reference in photoshop and then imported it to ZBrush, to help me get the proportions right.

Next I imported a base mesh made by Nick Succarello, free to use for everyone over at Pixologic.

After that I modified the base mesh to fit the silhouette of my references.

And that's how far i reached in the process. Lots of things to be done.
Yeah! Or "Jä!" As we say here in Sweden.

More to come soon!
